FAQ

1. How do I clean a Biothane product?
Just use water and soap.

2. Can I make extra holes in Biothane?
Yes, you can make extra holes in Biothane. Just use a rotarypunch (let it be a good one because Biothane is tougher to punch then leather). Be aware you burn the holes afterwards. Use for example a soldering iron or a heated nail. Burning guarantees the future quality of the material.

3. Can I cut Biothane parts that have no use?
Yes, you can cut off Biothane parts that are of nu use for you. Just use a scissor for it. Be aware you burn the new end of the material. Use for example a soldering iron or heated nail. Burning guarantees the future quality of the material.

4. What is Biothane?
Biothane is a polyester webbing (no nylon) coated with polyeruthane (opaque and translucent colours) or PVC (beta and grip). Biothane exists for over 30 years and is used in equine sports but also in many other fields of industry where strength is demanded.

5. How strong is Biothane?
Biothane is stronger then a good quality leather. Strength is 500 kg per inch width. Be aware that beta biothane is not as strong as the opaque and translucent. Granite is the strongest, often used for        driving harnesses.

6. Does Biothane keeps its colour?
Yes and no. The colour stays as it is although time and sun have their influence on the brightness of the colour.

7. Can a damaged bridle be repaired?
Yes. If some material has broken or a buckle has broken you can have it repaired. If you can't find a good repairshop in your neighbourhood, just send it to us and we will help you.

8. What happens to Biothane in extreme wheather?
Hardly anything. In extreme cold biothane stays flexible and in extreme heath it doen't crack or peel. In rain it gets slippery.

9. Doesn't Biothane chafe my horse?
No, it does not. Where leather can chafe after being wet and drying up, Biothane does not. If you have an extreme sensitive horse you might use neoprene or lambskin to cover certain parts.

10. Can you make any bridle I want?
Yes, Marylot doesn't do mass production but has it's own workshop in the Netherlands. You can name any modell, any colourcombination, any size, and we will be happy to make it for you.
